Repeat observation and change log

Track comparable observations over time without treating a short quiet period as proof that pests are gone.

1. Define the observation point

Give the location a name that you can reuse. A record from “kitchen cabinet, lower right corner” is easier to compare than “kitchen.”

2. Record each check

Write down the conditions of the observation. A brief daytime check and an extended nighttime sighting are different kinds of evidence.

3. Decide what the record supports

The log may reveal where and when evidence recurs. It cannot establish the population size or the absence of hidden activity.
